Dear Members:
As the 2010–2011 year draws to a close, I want to thank each you for your contributions to our association. I also want to thank the vendors and educators who have donated funds, attended our meetings, and provided employment opportunities.
Two important goals have been achieved this year:
1 Increased attendance at our general meetings; and
2. The change of our name to “Palo Alto Legal Professionals Association.”
In addition, I want to thank the Board Members and Committee Chairs for their efforts:
Alison Garcia – Secretary: Provided minutes for each of our Board and General Meetings, assisted with surveys of the membership when important business decisions were to be made, contributed ideas, directed the beginning of a General Meeting, and provided a speaker for a General Meeting.
Jill Wilkinson – Treasurer: Established excellent bookkeeping and raised the standards for our association’s treasury, attended board and General Meetings, provided table decorations and a prize, which made our Holiday Party 2010 very memorable, and maintained the Palo Alto LPA web site.
Beverly Kundracik – Governor & Parliamentarian: Attended LSI Quarterly Conferences, gave reports on these conferences, provided knowledge expertise to the Board regarding important decisions, attended interclub activities of other local organizations, assisted BALF and helped with General Meetings.
Terri Woodfolk – Hospitality/Reservations: Booked venues for our board and General Meetings, worked with caterers to provide delicious meals for our general meetings, provided setup before and after our general meetings, was a gracious hostess, created and distributed our General Meeting fliers, brought in revenue for our organization through negotiations with vendors, and provided a speaker for a General Meeting.
Vivian Shreve – Historian: Attended General Meetings, took pictures for the PALPA scrapbook and Facebook, connected with the fireman at Toys for Kids project where we donated gifts at the Holiday Party 2010 to help needy children, helped find a speaker for our general meeting, and assisted whenever help was needed.
When you get a chance, thank our Board Members and Committee Chairs for their hard work in making the last year a memorable one.
Others who have helped PALPA this year are Yvonne Waldron-Robinson, Kathy Dore, Nina Kramer, Pam Hennings, Judy Wong, and Beverly Mosqueda. Most importantly, we could not have done it without you!
